Tasha Schumann (aka Tasha the Amazon) is a Jamaican-German artist, producer, writer, and community-builder based in Toronto. ⁠

A Juno-nominated recording artist and music producer, she’s toured the mosh pits of the world. Her music has been featured on shows like HBO’s Insecure and Genera+ion, Comedy Central’s Broad City, VH1’s Love & Hip Hop and many more. She’s also been profiled in media like Billboard, New York Magazine’s The Cut, VICE, High Snobiety and more.⁠⁠

Her acclaimed Afrofuturistic videos⁠ and shorts have been recognized around the world, including at FilmQuest, Apex Awards, American Horror Festival, and the MuchMusic Video Awards where she was the first and only woman ever to win Best Rap Video in the history of the award.

A passionate community-builder, Tasha works with programs like Women in Music Canada and Artscape to mentor emerging artists, is a teacher of contemplative practice in the Indo-Tibetan tradition. She is also the host of Floralogic, an award-winning online show about nature at its weirdest that boasts 2 million followers, and co-hosts the Consciousness Explorers Podcast, an Apple Music top-5 rated podcast, with Calm App guide, Jeff Warren.
